Christina Truver has been named one of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Players of the Week for Mar. 19-25. The CCIW announced its most recent Player of the Week selections on Monday.
Truver was named the CCIW's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time for her efforts in the Cardinals' three games last week, two of which resulted in victories. She finished with team-high totals of 23 draw controls, 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers while also leading North Central in scoring with nine goals in wins over Hamline University (15-10) and Albion College (14-11) and a 21-13 loss at Colorado College. Truver recorded 13 draw controls against Colorado, establishing a new single-game school record.
Truver was also recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week on Mar. 5 and earned Offensive Player of the Week honors on Mar. 12. She is the only CCIW player to earn more than one weekly award so far this season and currently leads North Central in ground balls (31), draw controls (48) and caused turnovers (20) while sharing the team lead in scoring with 22 goals.
The Cardinals (7-1) travel to face Beloit College (Wisconsin) on Wednesday before hosting the University of Northwestern (Minnesota) on Saturday.
