KENOSHA, Wis. (Apr. 11, 2018) - Responding to an early challenge with vigor, the North Central College women's lacrosse team emerged victorious in a key College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) contest Wednesday evening with a 13-9 win at Carthage College.

The Cardinals trailed, 2-0, after 10 minutes of play, but tied the score at 2-2 after Addie Records assisted Christina Truver and Nelle Scranton on successvie goals within 56 seconds of each other. Records scored on a free-position shot to give North Central its first lead at 3-2 before passing to Scranton for another score. Jessica Deetjen darted through the middle of the Carthage defense to score with 4:45 left before the half and extend the Cardinals' lead to 5-2.

Trailing, 9-4, early in the second period, the Lady Reds (8-4, 1-1 CCIW) netted three goals in a stretch of just over five minutes to bring the hosts back into contention. North Central quelled the threat with three straight goals of its own, getting two from Christina Truver and another from Annabelle Steiner.

Deetjen, Scranton and Truver led the scoring effort for the Cardinals (11-1, 2-0) with three goals each, while Truver also claimed six draw controls and caused three turnovers. Records totaled six assists, one short of the North Central single-game record, while goalkeeper Camille Seghesio saved 11 shots.

The Cardinals travel to face Adrian College (Michigan) in a non-conference game on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.
