ADRIAN, Mich. (Apr. 13, 2018) -Â Extending a winning streak to six games for the second time this season, the North Central College women's lacrosse team improved to 12-1 on the season Friday, pulling away early in an 18-6 non-conference victory at Adrian College.
The Cardinals opened the game with six unanswered goals, scored by five different players, in the first 12 minutes of play. The visitors kept the pressure on throughout the evening, doubling Adrian's shot total (42-21) and successfully executing 17 of 19 clear attempts.
Madeline McHugh and
Grace Steiner led all scorers with four goals each, while
Addie Records and
Christina Truver both finished with three goals and two assists and
Camille Seghesio saved seven shots to earn her eighth win of the season in goal.
Truver also finished with 11 draw controls, giving her 89 for the season to establish a new North Central single-season record. The previous record of 81 was set by Gina Fisher '16 in 2014.
The Cardinals return to College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) competition on Wednesday, hosting Elmhurst College. Action at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
