Apr. 3, 2018 - North Central College sophomore Taiah Gallisath has been recognized as one of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week for Mar. 26-Apr. 1. The CCIW announced the second installment of Athlete of the Week selections for the outdoor season on Tuesday.

Gallisath received the conference's Field Athlete of the Week distinction for the first time in her collegiate career after opening the 2018 outdoor campaign at the Augustana College Viking Olympics on Thursday. She finished in a three-way tie for first place in the high jump, exceeding her outdoor lifetime best in the event by two inches as she cleared the bar at 5'3". The mark currently ranks as the top outdoor performance in the event throughout the CCIW this year.

Gallisath placed third in the high jump at the CCIW Indoor Championships in February.

The Cardinals return to competition on Saturday, competing in the Wheaton College Invitational. Competition at McCully Stadium is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
