2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America Baseball Teams

Michael Mateja has been named to the 2018 NCAA Division III Academic All-America Third Team, nominated and voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Mateja was one of 33 players in NCAA Division III selected to the All-America teams and is joined by Augustana College's Carter Amundsen and Mike Powers representing the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW). Mateja is one of just four baseball players to earn the distinction in school history and the first since 1992, while earning the College's 29
th selection overall.
An accounting major, Mateja was named a second team All-American by both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), becoming just the third player in program history to earn All-America honors in back-to-back seasons.
Mateja was also named Central Region Player of the Year by D3baseball.com for the second consecutive season, leading the team batting .444 to go along with 54 runs scored, 72 hits, 20 doubles, four triples, four homeruns, 38 runs batted in, 27 walks and a .534 on-base percentage.
His .444 average was good for eighth on the program's single-season list, while his 20 doubles rank third, 72 hits, 54 runs scored and .534 on-base percentage rank fifth.
Additionally, Mateja ranks first all-time in sacrifice flies (12), third in hits (208), runs scored (155) and stolen bases (51), fourth in total bases (296) and triples (12), fifth in doubles (40) and hit by pitches (26), and ninth in at-bats (525).
