2017-18 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

Aug. 3, 2018 – The North Central College baseball team was awarded for its academic success in 2018, earning the Team Academic Excellence Award, handed out by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

The ABCA has been awarding the Team Academic Excellence award for the last three years, awarded to programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2017-18 academic year.

This marks the first time that North Central has been awarded and was one of 78 NCAA Division III teams to make the list.  North Central was also joined on the list by fellow College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) members Carroll University, Elmhurst College, Millikin University, North Park University and Wheaton College.

In total, 292 programs were honored over all college divisions and the high school level, a record number of recipients over the three-year existence of the award.
