Box Score

CLAREMONT, Calif. (Aug. 31, 2018) - Traveling to California to kick off the season, the North Central women's soccer team found themselves in trouble early and failed to recover, falling 6-1 to Pomona- Pitzer (1-0).

Within the first ten minutes, the Sagehens pounced to a 2-0 lead and never looked back, tacking on three more goals before the first half ended. Pomona-Pitzer maintained possession of the ball for the majority of the game and it was clear they were bent on controlling the pace of the game. On the other side of the field, the Cardinals struggled to generate shots, recording just two all game.

Aly Crum recorded the Cardinals' lone goal in the 74th minute. Nicole Novak took advantage of poor ballhandling by Pomona-Pitzer in their defensive zone, passing it ahead to Crum who found herself with space in the box. Her shot tipped off Sagehen goalkeeper Kendall Shein's outstretched hands, but still found its way into the back of the net.

North Central (0-1) continues their California campaign Sunday at 7 p.m. (PT) against the University of La Verne. Live stats can be found HERE.
