NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 15, 2018) - The North Central College men's soccer team struck early and never let up against Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday, beating the Prairie Wolves by a 3-1 final.

Junior Alexis Flores started the scoring for the match, when he took a ball that ricocheted off multiple players in the box and booted it into the net. It did not take the Cardinals long to strike again, when senior Jared Collier used the very effective flip throw, launching the ball 20 yards to junior Andreas Kristiansson, who also found the back of the net to make the score 2-0 heading into the half.

The Prairie Wolves (3-2) came out of the half time with a renewed energy and a new goalie, with Samuel Lesoing coming out in net to start the new half. They went on the offensive and found themselves back in the game with a 51st minute goal by Jake Kennedy.

Flores struck again just seven minutes later for the Cardinals, dribbling skillfully around two Nebraska Wesleyan defenders and placing his shot in the upper left corner of the goal, just passed a diving Lesoing. The last 32 minutes of the game were a stalemate between the two teams, with the final score being 3-1.

For Flores, he scored his second and third goals of the season, which ties him for the team lead with senior Joe Trocki. It was Kristiansson's first goal on the season, while junior goalie Marco Soto saved two of the three shots sent his way.

The Cardinals (3-2) try to extend their winning streak to three as they travel to take on the Benedictine University Eagles on Sept. 17 with game time set for 7 pm. Live stats can be found HERE.
