Jan. 15, 2019 - North Central College women's track and field student-athlete Kelsey McLaurin has been honored as one of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Athletes of the Week for Jan. 7-13. 

McLaurin placed first in three events in Friday's Cardinal Opener at Al B. Carius Track, which was the Cardinals' first competition of the new indoor season. McLaurin won the triple jump with a distance of 37 feet, 11.25 inches while also placing first in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 17'0.50", and capped off the meet by running on North Central's first-place 4-by-400-meter relay team. 

The owner of North Central's indoor and outdoor records in the triple jump, McLaurin currently ranks first in the CCIW and fourth among all NCAA Division III competitors in the event while sitting fourth in the CCIW in the long jump. 

The Cardinals will host the University of St. Francis in the Snow Day Dual on Friday, with competition in running events and field events set to begin at 4:45 p.m.
