Monmouth, Ill (Oct. 19, 2019) - Competing in their first meet of the year, the North Central College men's and women's swimming & diving team participated in the Monmouth College Double Dual along with Knox College and earned 15 individual top-three finishes.
North Central opened the meet by taking first place in the men's 200-yard medley relay.
Ryan Lewellyan, Sam Stamatis,
Austin Blaser and Nick Snow posted a time of 1:48.91, which was just ahead of Monmouth (1:51.32). In the only other relay that the Cardinals participated in, they took third place in the mixed 200-yard freestyle relay as
Marissa Hoppe,
Amy Feltz, Snow and Blaser competed in that race.
Individually for the men, Blaser recorded two first-place finishes for North Central as he won the 50-yard freestyle (23.35) and the 50-yard butterfly (26.04). In that 50-yard freestyle race, Stamatis (24.18) took second while Snow (24.20) took third. Stamatis also took second place in the 100-yard breaststoke with a time of 1:09.26.
On the women's side, Feltz posted a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (26.64) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.55). Hoppe posted a time of 35.93 in the 50-yard backstroke which earned her second place. She also took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Cardinals compete on Saturday as they visit Illinois Wesleyan for the Halloween Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 1:00pm.
