BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Oct. 9, 2019) - Looking to remain unbeaten in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play, the North Central College women's soccer fell just short against Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday, dropping the game in overtime after tying the contest in the final minute of regulation.

The Titans (6-5, 1-1 CCIW) controlled the first half handedly, out-shooting the Cardinals by a 9-4 margin with the shots on goal tally sitting at 4-1 in favor of Illinois Wesleyan. Madison Lockard saved all four shots though and the score remained tied through the first 45 minutes. The second half was even more in favor of Illinois Wesleyan, getting off 15 shots to the Cardinal's five. The Titans were unable to get many dangerous chances against a stifling Cardinals defense though, as Lockard saved five more shots in the second for a total of nine in the game.

The tie was finally broken in the 71st minute as Flower Edington scored for the Titans.  The Cardinals were not finished yet though, as Aly Crum connected in the 89th minute to pull even with the Titans. The goal marked her fourth of the season as the assist from Allyson Viederis marked her first on the year. The final minute of regulation played out without a goal and the game headed to overtime.

Illinois Wesleyan only needed one shot in the fifith minute of the overtime period to put a heartbreaking end to a hard-fought game. 

Lockard saved nine shots in the game while her record on the season dropped to 6-5-1.
