2020 CCIW Championship Coaches' Poll
Nov. 21, 2019 – The North Central College men's wrestling team is favored to win its third-straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship, according to the results of the CCIW Championship Coaches' Poll released on Thursday.
Under the direction of head coach
Joe Norton—now in his fifth season—North Central captured its second-straight CCIW Championship and eighth in program history at Elmhurst College on Feb. 7, totaling 133.5 points to outpace runner-up Millikin University by two points. The team also compiled a perfect 5-0 record in conference dual meets.
The Cardinals topped the poll with 48 points and six of a total eight first-place votes (coaches are not permitted to vote for their own teams). Millikin received 44 points and the remaining first-place votes, followed by Elmhurst College in third with 35 points, Wheaton College in fourth with 33 points and Augustana College in fifth (21 points). University Wisconsin and Milwaukee School of Engineering received 18 points apiece to tie for sixth, while Lakeland University rounded out the poll with seven points.
North Central competes in the Concordia-Wisconsin University Open on Nov. 23, which is set to begin at 9 a.m.
