RIPON, Wis. (Nov. 9, 2019) - A trip north for a double dual against Ripon College and Beloit College showed many successes for both the North Central College men's and women's swimming & diving teams despite the score outcomes, earning 14 individual top-three finishes.

Senior Marissa Hoppe led the way on the women's side posting three first-place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley (two minutes and 30.05 seconds), 100-yard butterfly (1:08.49), and 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.83).

Amy Feltz had a strong showing as well, recording second-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (27.20) and the 100-yard breastroke (1:20.97). Feltz also notched a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:22.25.

Ben Laurich and Nick Mielke provided two first place finishes for the men's team, with Laurich clocking a time of 12:14.63 in the 1000-yard freestyle, while Mielke finished the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:02.22.

Mielke teamed up with Ryan Lewellyan, Sarantis Stamatis, and Austin Blaser for the 400-yard medley relay for one of two second-place relay finishes in a time of 4:07.10 before swapping Lewellyan for Cameron Teel to finish the meet with the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:46.07).

North Central's women fell 38-136 against Ripon and 50-76 against Beloit while the men split the meet with a 88-87 win over Ripon and a 50-76 loss to Beloit.

The Cardinals compete on Nov. 23 for another double dual against Carthage College and Carroll University. The meet is set to begin at 12 p.m. in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
