ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 20, 2019) – The North Central College women's tennis team suffered its sole loss of the team's trip to Florida after struggling to gain momentum in a 9-0 loss to Hope College (4-2) on Wednesday.
The Dutch took command of the match early, taking the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches and despite a battle from College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week
Diana Barcelata and her partner,
Katie McGraw, Calvin's duo of Taylor LaBarge and Sydney Jackson won the No. 2 match, 8-6.
The singles matches did not go as the Cardinals had hoped as the Dutch made quick work of its opponent. McGraw was able to score a win in the second set of her No. 4 match against LaBarge, but fell 10-8 in the third set.
North Central (12-5) return to the Midwest and travels to Lake Bluff, Ill. to play Lake Forest College on Friday, Mar. 29 at 6 p.m.
