Mar. 25, 2019 - The North Central College women's lacrosse team has swept the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women's lacrosse player of the week awards this week, with
Jessica Deetjen and
Christina Truver taking the honors, announced by the CCIW on Monday.
Over the past week, Deetjen has led the Cardinals to a 3-0 record, scoring 18 goals through those three games. She has also gone 10-13 on free position shots over those games. On the season as a whole, she has 34 goals through eight games, leading the CCIW in goals per contest at 4.25.
Truver has dominated the midfield in the past week for North Central, getting 19 ground balls through the three games. She has also picked up 25 ground balls and caused seven turnovers. Currently, she is ranked first in ground balls per game in the CCIW, almost a full two ground balls per game ahead of the second-placed player.
The Cardinals (7-1) take a four game winning streak into their next contest on Wednesday, taking the short trip to Benedictine University to take on the Eagles at 7 pm. Click
