CCIW Release

April 1, 2019 - The North Central College women's lacrosse team has swept the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week awards for the second straight week, with Christina Truver and Grace Steiner taking the honors this week.

Truver has impressed the whole season and last week was no different, totaling five goals, one assist, 13 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and 14 draw controls over North Central's two victories last week. This is the second consecutive week Truver has taken the award and the fifth time in her three year career. Truver is currently first in the CCIW in ground balls per game (6.60), which out-paces any other individual player by two ground balls. She is also second in the conference in draw controls per game with 6.00 per contest.

Steiner set the tone offensively for the Cardinals last week, tallying eight goals, three assists, seven ground balls, and caused five turnovers. This is the first time Steiner has received the award. She currently has 20 goals on the season, which ranks her third on the team and has six assists, which ranks fourth on the team.

The Cardinals (9-1, 1-0 CCIW) continue their conference schedule with a game at Augustana College on April 3. Click HERE for live stats and HERE for live video.
