Apr. 16, 2019 – After homering in five-straight games from Apr. 6-13, North Central College baseball player
Rob Marinec was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The award is the second career honor for Marinec, also receiving the weekly award on Feb. 27, 2018, while this is the third of the season for North Central as
Colin Weilbacher earned the award on Mar. 19 and
Charlie Klemm was named Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 26.
Marinec hit .500 (9-for-18) last week with six runs, three homeruns, two doubles and one homerun, slugging 1.222 on the week for the 3-1 Cardinals.
North Central returns to play on Friday, Apr. 19, hosting Carthage College for the first two games of the CCIW series, with first pitch of game one at 12 p.m. at Zimmerman Stadium. Links to live in-game coverage are available
