Naperville, Ill. (Sept. 1st, 2019) - Following a defensive first half, the North Central College men's soccer team scored three goals in the second half to propel them to victory over Ohio Northern University.
Andreas Raaen got the scoring started for the Cardinals in the 48th minute off an assist from
Alexis Flores. Flores later assisted the Cardinals second goal as Alex Parales found the back of the net. To put the game away,
Jack Fairwood took matters into his own hands by scoring an unassisted goal in the 88th minute. All three North Central goals were scored by players who came off of the bench.
Flores also took three shots, two of which were on target. As a team, North Central posted 13 shots, eight of them being on goal. The Cardinals also earned three corner kicks for the game.
In goal,
Marco Soto totaled eight saves and faced four corner kicks for the Polar Bears. John Lombardo of Ohio Northern corralled five saves on the day.
The Cardinals next host Rockford University at 7:30pm on Tuesday in Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
