RIVER FOREST, Ill. (Sept. 18, 2019) - Playing in already their third overtime contest of the season, the North Central College men's soccer team drew a 0-0 tie against Dominican University, thanks to the defensive effort of both teams.

With little action in the first half, the Cardinals recorded two shots, none being on target. North Central's defense kept six Dominican shots from being on goal as both teams were deadlocked at zero to end the first half.

The Cardinals ramped up the offense in the second half as four different players looked to record the go-ahead goal, but none were able to find the back of the net. The closest shot coming from Spencer Wiese who hit the crossbar in the 57th minute. North Central also took five corners within the 45 minutes of the second half.

In the overtime periods, the defense stood strong as both goalkeepers were able to keep their opponents scoreless as the game ended in a tie.

Marco Soto recorded four saves to post his second shutout of the season as he moves to 3-3-1 on the season. The Stars goalkeeper Daniel Dominguez made three saves as his record sits at 3-2-2 for the year.

North Central's next game is on Saturday as the Cardinals travel to Lake Forest College. The game is set to begin at 2:00 PM at Farwell Field.
