DECATUR, Ill. (Sept. 28, 2019) - Opening up College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play on Saturday, the North Central College women's soccer team scored two goals in the last six minutes of regulation to defeat the Millikin University Big Blue 3-2.

The Cardinals started strong on the afternoon, opening up the scoring on a seventh minute goal by Lauren Willie, her first of the season coming on an assist by Aly Crum. The Big Blue were not to be outdone though, answering back with a 16th-minute goal on a free kick to even it up. The scoring slowed from there, with the halftime tally set at 1-1.

Millikin came out of the half firing, pulling ahead on a 57th minute score from Lucy Koger. As the game wound down with the score still 2-1, Aly Crum took a pass from Kacie Moran and scored, pulling the score back to even. With all the momentum going their way, the Cardinals scored again in the 89th minute as Kyra Ripoli scored unassisted to put the Cardinals ahead once again.

Madison Lockard received her fifth win in net on the season for the Cardinals, saving seven shots and only allowing the two goals.

The Cardinals continue their CCIW schedule on Oct. 2, hosting the Augustana College Vikings with game time set for 7 pm. Click HERE for live stats and HERE for live video of the contest.
