WHITEWATER, Wis. - With neither defense giving way through 110 minutes of play, the North Central College women's soccer team came out of Saturday's contest with University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a 0-0 draw.
With offensive opportunities being few and far between, the two teams were deadlocked for the first half, sending four shots each on their way to a scoreless end to the half.
The second half saw slightly more action in favor of the Warhawks, outshooting the Cardinals by an 8-6 margin. With the game winding down, both teams squandered golden opportunities to put their team ahead, but with neither chance coming to fruition, the final buzzer sounded with the game still knotted at zero.
Whitewater pushed hard in the overtime periods, shooting five times over the extra-time minutes, with two of them challenging
Madison Lockard, who was in goal for the Cardinals. Lockard held strong though, stopping both and preserving her second shutout of the season.
Lockard put forth another strong game in goal for the Cardinals, saving six shots to anchor the defense.
The Cardinals look to push their unbeaten streak to five against Loras College at home on Tuesday, with game time set for 7 pm. Click
