CCIW Release

Jan. 21, 2020 – North Central College men's wrestler Cody Baldridge has been honored as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week, the fourth selection for the team this season. The CCIW announced its latest award winners on Tuesday.

Baldridge's recognition follows a huge victory in North Central's dual meet with the University of Chicago Maroons on Jan. 15. With the score knotted at seven, Baldridge met fourth-ranked Ben Sarasin–a 2019 NCAA Division III All-American–in the 184-pound match and delivered an electric 6-4 decision to hand Sarasin his first loss of the season and put the Cardinals back ahead for good, eventually winning the match, 22-15

A 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship qualifier, Baldridge's performance pushes his season record to 19-6 at 184-lbs, where he's tallied six major decisions and three pins. North Central's previous CCIW weekly award winners from this season are Ian Mullen (Nov. 19), Anthony Rink (Dec. 24) and Marc Fleenor (Jan. 14).

North Central hosts No. 23 Millikin University tonight in Gregory Arena at 7 p.m.
