AURORA, Ill. (Feb. 14, 2020) – Falling in a 3-0 hole after doubles play for the second-straight match, the North Central College men's tennis team dropped a non-conference dual at the hands of Illinois Institute of Technology, 7-2 on Friday inside Vaughan Tennis Center.
North Central (2-2) put itself in early trouble after doubles play and never recovered, as ITT (2-3) scored the first two wins at each of the No. 6 and 4 singles positions to quickly clinch the match 5-0.
Colten Way was able to get the Cardinals on the board with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Yousef Abdo at the No. 3 position, while
Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez remains unbeaten in dual matches this season atop the lineup, scoring a narrow 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 victory over Roman Shishlov.
With a quick turnaround before their next match, North Central takes on the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse on Sunday, Feb. 16 in a neutral site match contested inside Lake Geneva Tennis Club in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
