BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Feb. 29, 2020)
 - Placing first in four events and second in five others, the North Central College women's track and field team had little trouble repeating as College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) indoor champions Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan University, winning the program's seventh indoor conference title overall.

The Cardinals totaled 152 points, while the host Titans came in second with 101. Carthage College placed third (80.50), followed by Wheaton College (77.50), Augustana College (75), Carroll University (65), Millikin University (62), Elmhurst College (44) and North Park University (6).

North Central won two events on Friday's first day of competition, as Kathy Myrda cleared 11 feet, 7.75 inches to win the pole vault and the distance medley relay team of Rachael Vaccaro, Carly Horak, Natalie Cook and Jenna Yakesh placed first in 12 minutes, 29.48 seconds. The Cardinals won the distance medley relay for the fifth straight season, while Myrda's victory gives North Central 15 of the 20 CCIW indoor pole vault titles that have been awarded.

Kelsey McLaurin won the CCIW's triple jump championship for the second straight season, achieving a first-place mark of 38'6.25", while Jenna Fiore clocked an 11-second personal best to win the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:25.20 which ranks eighth-fastest in the program's history. Fiore also placed second in the 5,000-meter run (18:30.01) on Friday.

Taiah Gallisath cleared 5'4.25" to place second high jump, while runner-up showings also came from Milia Harris in the 60-meter hurdles (8.92), Katie Bonney in the 400-meter dash (58.66) and the 4-by-400-meter relay team of Ashley Buado, Keely Parker, Elizabeth Hodonicky and Annie Brandt (4:05.61). Third-place points came from Alexandra Draves in the weight throw (54'1.75"), Allyson McLaughlin in the 3,000 (10:38.84) and 5,000 (18:31.35), Yakesh in the mile (5:11.21) and McLaurin in the 200-meter dash (25.67). McLaurin's time moves her up to third in the Cardinals' history in the event indoors.
