2019-2020 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Awards

July 30, 2020 – The North Central College baseball team was awarded with its third-straight Team Academic Excellence Award, announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Thursday.
 
The ABCA has been awarding the Team Academic Excellence Award for the last five years, given to programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2019-2020 academic year.  The Cardinals have earned the award in three of those five years (2018, 2019, 2020).

A total of 110 NCAA Division III teams were honored this past season, including seven of the nine College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) members, as North Central was joined by Carroll University, Elmhurst College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Millikin University, North Park University and Wheaton College.
 
In total, over 400 programs were honored over all college divisions and the high school level, a record number of recipients over the five-year existence of the award.
