CCIW Release

Oct. 21, 2021 – Preluding the championship season, North Central College women's cross country student-athlete, Jenna Fiore, has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Athlete of the Week after her personal best performance at the Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday. The CCIW announced its selections on Wednesday.

Fiore turned in a time of 22 minutes and 38.2 seconds – a 19-second personal best on the six-kilometer course – to place 29th overall and was the top finisher amongst all five CCIW institutions in attendance. Fiore held her own against six nationally-ranked institutions and helped lead the Cardinals to a 10th place team finish. 

The leadership Fiore has offered to North Central's young team has been crucial this season. Having finished 14th at the 2019 CCIW Championships and 41st at the 2019 NCAA Division III Midwest Region Championship, Fiore's experience will aid the team in its transition into this year's championship season.

Fiore and the Cardinals are set to compete on Oct. 30 at the CCIW Conference Championship in Warrenville, Ill. Wheaton College will be hosting this year's championship at St. James Farm.
