HANOVER PARK, Ill. (Oct. 21, 2021) - Breaking the program record for most wins in a fall season, the North Central College women's tennis team beat North Park University 5-0 in the opening round of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament on Thursday morning inside of the Centre Court Athletic Club. The Cardinals improve to 12-0 on the season with two matches remaining.

At No. 1 doubles, Hannah Hougland and Alaina Kanthaphixay cruised to an 8-0 victory. The duo of Natalie Bassett/Kaeli Smashey beat Carla Cazes/Kate Vinson 8-3 before Sydney Sawyer and Nina Patience completed the doubles sweep for North Central with an 8-2 win at the No. 3 doubles position.

Looking to stay perfect as a team, the Cardinals entered into singles action where Smashey earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 1 spot while Mikayla Edquiban took down Mia McLennan 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the win for North Central.
