Beloit, Wis. (Nov. 20th, 2021) - The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving programs traveled to Beloit Wisconsin to compete in the Beloit College Quad Meet against Beloit College, Illinois College, and Ripon College in Nicholls Natatorium Saturday afternoon.

The men's swimming and diving team turned in a strong performance with their relay teams as their 200 yard medley relay team took home second place as Ben Laurich, Sam Stamatis, Gavin Sheehan, and Mike Davis swam a time of 1:56.96. In the 200 yard freestyle Maciej Sporna, Davis, Devin Sheehan, and Stamatis swam a time of 1:47.52 to come in fourth in the event. 

Individually, Gavin Sheehan swam a time of 20:27.05 in the 1,650 yard freestyle and finished in third place in the event. G. Sheehan also competed in the 100 yard butterfly and finished in fourth with a time of 1:02.08. Laurich swam in a competitive 100 yard backstroke and was able to finish in fourth with a time of 1:05.23

Individually for the women's swimming and diving team, Madison Muhr swam in the 1,650 freestyle and finished with a time of 23:02.64, which was good for fourth place in the meet. 

A pair of Cardinals finished second and third in the 200 yard freestyle as Emily Miehlke and Julia Kramer finished with times of 2:12.77 and 2:14.26 respectively. Kramer also came back and swam in the 100 yard butterfly and finished with a time of 1:08.66 which was good enough to finish first for the event. 

The men's and women's swimming and diving team both return to the pool as they will travel the short distance to Wheaton College to compete in the Wheaton College Invitational on December 3rd with the competition continuing on December 4th.
