Naperville, Ill. (Dec. 15th, 2021) - North Central's
Robert Precin picked as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday, after a dominating performance at the 57th North Central College Invitational . Also, the men's wrestling program was ranked second among Division III schools by InterMat Wrestling.
Precin helped lead the Cardinals to a third place team finish at the North Central Invitational by winning the 133-pound weight class. After opening with a win by fall over Jack Stone (Harper) in 1:27, Precin used a 13-2 major decision over Brett Blaess of Baldwin Wallace to reach the semifinals. Facing Jaden Hinton of Baldwin Wallace, Precin used a 5-4 decision to reach the finals, where he knocked off Wheaton All-American Ethan Harsted by a 7-1 decision. Precin is currently undefeated with a record of 19-0.
For the fourth week in a row the men's wrestling program is still ranked second in Division III by InterMat Wrestling. Precin is still currently ranked first in the 133-pound weight class. Javen Estrada is ranked fourth in the 141-pound weight class, Alex Villar is ranked fifth in the 149-pound weight class, and Cody Baldridge is ranked third in the 197-pound weight class.
