Wheaton, Ill. (Dec. 5th, 2021) - The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving team traveled to Wheaton College on Saturday to compete in the Wheaton College Invitational as both teams placed sixth.

The women's relay team of Julia Kramer (27.02), Emily Miehlke (27.38), Hailey Poe (26.38), and Taylin Lemke (27.27) swam a time of 1:48.05 in the 200 yard freestyle, which has been one of the team's top time in the relay on the season. 

The men's 200 yard freestyle team of Ben Laurich (25.95), Gavin Sheehan (26.09), Maciej Sporna (25.06), and Sam Stamatis (23.10) finished with a time of 1:40.20. 

Poe finished with a time of 5:45.67 in the 500 yard freestyle and was good enough for a sixth place finish in the B-final. Teammates Stamatis and Sporna swam in the 100 yard freestyle and just missed out on reaching the finals as they finished with times of of 53.81 and 57.19 respectively, both out swimming their seed times. 

The men's and women's swimming and diving team will get a long break from the pool as both teams will return to the pool January 8th as they travel to Loras College to take on the Duhawks.
