Feb. 27th, 2021 - The 12th ranked North Central College men's wrestling team took on #1 ranked Wartburg College in their last regular season matchup, which included several top 10 matchups between the two teams. 

No. 2 ranked Robert Precin continued his perfect season by defeating Joe Pins (Wartburg) by Dec. 6-0  to even the score between the Cardinals and the Knights 3-3 in this highly anticipated top 15 matchup. Precin hasn't lost a match all season and looks to continue his success into the National tournament next week. 

Brock Montford who is currently ranked #7 (184) defeated David Papach (Wartburg) (MD 9-1) to bring the score to 24-7 between the two teams. Montford has also had an impressive season holding a 12-0 record overall and closing the regular season on a high note. 

No. 5 ranked Cody Baldridge battle hard throughout his matchup with No. 6 ranked Kobe Woods trailing for majority of the competition. With 30 seconds left and trailing 4-3 to Woods, Baldridge desperately shot a double leg to score two points and held on to Woods to secure the win 5-4. 

Capping off the night No. 7 Ben Bergen defeated Warburg's Eli Pannel (Dec. 6-1). Bergen secured a take down in the final period to clinch the win over Pannel and improve his record to 11-0 overall on the season. 

North Central men's wrestling (8-1, 8-0 CCIW)  will participate in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Championships on March 12th - 13th in Coralville, Iowa inside the Xstream Arena.
