Moran Leads Cardinals Past Crosstown Rival

Results 

March 11, 2021 - The first and third period of Wednesday night's contest mattered to be the difference in the win for the Cardinals, as they downed the Eagles 15-8, inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. 

In the first meeting between the two schools the Cardinals opened up the first period with a 5-2 lead over the Eagles. The Eagles fought back in the second period as both teams netted three goals, to go into halftime with a score of 8-5 in favor of the Cardinals. The Cardinals added to their lead in the third period by outscoring the Eagles 5-2, increasing their lead to to six heading into the fourth period. The defense picked up in the fourth period as only three goals were scored between the two teams, closing out the night for the Cardinals with a 15-8 win. 

Jack Moran led the night with four goals, while teammates Nick Rubino, Tom Eberhardt, and Riley Bachinski all netted three goals in the win. Scott Allgood also contributed a goal and two assist, along with Bachinski also, dished out two assist last night in the win. 

Conner Holderness collected six groundballs on the night and Jake Allgood was solid in goal all night for the Cardinals, coming up with 12 saves in 60 minutes of play. 

The Cardinals (2-0) return to action, Saturday at 1:00PM against the Spartans of Aurora at home.
