March 17, 2021 - In a cold and rainy affair inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, the Cardinals dominated in all aspects of the game to improve to 4-0 on the season.
The offense was firing shots on goal all night ending the game with 56 in total.
Jack Moran led all scorers with six goals in the win, while teammates
Tom Eberhardt netted three goals,
Riley Bachinski and
Patrick Fransen contributed 2 goals a piece, and
Nick Rubino and
Scott Allgood each scored one goal. Bachinski,
Luke Illgen, and Moran all had three assist as well.
Steven Faux,
Jacob Ray, and
Zach Kuyava were all tied for a game high in ground balls on the evening.
Anthony Zowin was able to force 3 turnovers on the night, while also dishing out an assist on offense. The Cardinals defense was stellar all night only giving up 13 shots.
Jake Allgood, the winning goalie on the evening, recorded two saves and
Jack MacLeod also had three.
The Cardinals were able to win 17 of 20 face offs giving themselves a huge advantage in time of possession. Ray was 14-16 in face offs as
Alec Kretovic went 3-4.
The Cardinals (4-0) return to action on Sunday versus Concordia of Wisconsin (2-1). Game begins at 10 a.m. at CUW.
