March 21, 2021 - After being down 3-1 in the first period. The men's lacrosse team rattled off 7 unanswered goals en route to a 11-7 win over Concordia of Wisconsin.
The Cardinals jumped out in front, 7-3, after a slow start in the first period where they were trailing 3-1. North Central nearly out shot their opponent 2-1, as the Cardinals put up 58 shots compared to the Falcons 30.
Riley Bachinski opened up the scoring for the Cardinals to tie the game up at one, five minutes into the first period. The Cardinals would go quite the rest of the period, trailing heading into the second period. Bachinski would go onto score two early goals in the second period to bring the game to a tie, at three all.
Tom Eberhardt,
Jack Moran, and
Nick Rubino would all add to the scoring in the second, while Bachinski, also netted a goal with one second left in the second period.
Luke Illgen would capture a goal to start of the third period and bring the score to 7-3 Cardinals. Illgen, Eberhardt, and Bachinski would all go onto add one more goal each to close out the scoring for the Cardinals.
Bachinski would end the game with a game high five goals, followed by Eberhardt (two), Illgen (two), Moran (one), and Rubino (one). Rubino dished out three assist on the day, while Moran had two assist in the game.
Jacob Ray won 15 of 21 faceoffs and collected 7 ground balls, while
Jake Allgood improved to 5-0 in the net for the Cardinals
North Central hosts Marian University (3-1) on Saturday. Play is scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m.
