April 10, 2021 - The North Central College men's
lacrosse team
uses a strong second half to blow past the Spartans of Dubuque en route to a 23-9 win.
After having an awful feeling in their stomachs' following the loss to Illinois Wesleyan, the Cardinals came out strong against the University of Dubuque opening up with a 7-1 led after the first quarter.
Feeding off the 27 Spartan turnovers, the Cardinals were able to put 55 shots up, with 39 of them being on goal.
Luke Illgen led the Cardinals in scoring with four goals and three assist. Fellow Attacker
Patrick Fransen also had himself a night with four goals as well.
Nick Rubino had three goals and three assist on the night, while teammate
Riley Bachinski continues to be a problem to opposing defenses scoring three goals along with two assist.
Jacob Ray helped the Cardinals control possession of the ball all night going 17-27 in face offs and picking up eight ground balls.
Jake Allgood was great all night, only surrendering five goals in almost 40 minutes of play.
Jack MacLeod came into the game a little over half way through the game to close out the win for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals 7-1 (1-1) return to action Wednesday night as they travel to Carroll University.
