April 22, 2021 - The North Central women's lacrosse team struggled to find any rhythm on offense against the University of Chicago as they lost to the Maroons, 22-3.

The Maroons (6-0, 3-0 CCIW) took control of the game early on and were able to control possession of the ball for majority of the first half, putting up 15 goals as the Cardinals had no answers for them. The Cardinals were only able to put up 7 shots in the first half compared to the Maroons 24.

Ellie Yonak would score the first goal of the game for the Cardinals. Yonak was fouled in the attack zone, which she was awarded a free position shot and capitalized on her opportunity scoring with 24:43 left in the second half. Grace Steiner would add a goal later on as she scored on a free position shot with 17:05 to make the score 19-2 Maroons.

Abigail Widd recorded eight saves in the game and Mary Pinkowski caused two turnovers in her efforts. Julia Clarke had a goal and two ground balls in the loss.

The Cardinals (2-5, 1-3 CCIW) return to action Saturday, hosting the Illinois Wesleyan Titans.
