Holland, Michigan (April 25th, 2021) - Taking advantage of one last opportunity to race in the 2020-2021 academic year, the North Central women's triathlon traveled to Michigan to compete in the Mighty Mitten Splash & Dash.
North Central College dominated the meet taking home first place and taking the top two spots in the meet. Millikin University finished second, while Calvin College finished third in Michigan.
Senior,
Annika Cotner was the top finisher for the Cardinals and taking first overall in the meet. Cotner was one of the first couple girls out of the water, followed by
Naomi Hill who was the second Cardinal to cross the finish line and took home second overall. Freshman,
Julia Kramer finished 6th overall in the meet amongst all competitors.
While only competing in only two meets this spring and facing all of the challenges the past year has brought, the Cardinals were able to take home first place in both meets, while also facing top Division III opponents.
The Mighty Mitten marked the conclusion of the spring triathlon season. The North Central women's triathlon team looks forward to return to action in the fall, where they look to take home their fourth straight National Championship.
