NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship Accepted Entries
May 22, 2021 - The North Central College women's track and field team will be represented in six events by seven student-athletes at the upcoming NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship, as announced by the Division III Track and FIeld Committee Friday evening.
The Cardinals will have two competitors in the hammer throw, as Alexandra Draves has qualified with the ninth-best mark in the field (175'0") and Irma Golden has qualified 13th (174'7"). Katie Bonney owns the ninth-fastest time in the competition in the 400-meter dash (56.52), while Taiah Gallisath ranks 10th in the high jump (5'7"), while Julia Babinec sits 11th in the 100-meter hurdles (14.26), Faith Ladin ranks 15th in the javelin throw (137'2") and Kathy Myrda ranks 17th in the pole vault (12'2.50").
Bonney is set to compete at the outdoor championship for a second time after finishing 11th as part of North Central's 4-by-400-meter relay team in 2019. Bonney and Gallisath both qualified for indoor national competition in 2019 and 2020, while Draves and Myrda qualified for indoor nationals last season.
The pole vault begins at 11 a.m. Eastern time on Thursday, followed by followed by the javelin throw at 5 p.m. Friday's action features the high jump at 11:30 a.m., the qualifying heats of the 100-meter hurdles at 2:10 p.m. and the 400-meter dash preliminary heats at 3:00. The finals of the 100-meter hurdles will be run at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the 400-meter dash finals at 1:10 and the hammer throw at 2:00.
