Naperville, Ill. September 12th, 2021 - On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the North Central women's soccer team treated the fans to an offensive show, netting four goals and shutting down the Benedictine University offense, holding them to zero.

The Cardinals defense was stellar in the first half of today's game as they kept the Eagles out of the offensive zone for the majority of the half. In the first half, the Eagles were only able to get three shots as Lauren Fischer attacked offensive players to cause turnovers and Jordan Boyd was a stone wall in net.

Elle Sutter scored the first goal of the game as the Benedictine goalie just missed the ball over her right hand and hit the bottom of the cross bar to find the bottom of the net. Moments later Sutter would take a corner kick on the north end of the field and found teammate Emma Goldman, who would find the back of the net to extend the Cardinals lead to 2-0.

The second half was more the same. The Cardinals offense stayed on the attack, punishing the Eagles defense. After being the hero against Illinois Institute of Technology, Kily Egan would score a goal just outside the 18. This time pushing the Cardinals lead to 3-0.

Not too long afterwards Sutter would receive a pass from Mady Schimdt, who would score her second goal of the afternoon.

The Cardinals improve to (2-2-1) on the year and look to extend their win total Wednesday night, as they host Loras College at 7 pm CT.
