Lake Forest, Ill. (Sept. 15, 2021) -  The North Central men's soccer team won their sixth straight game taking down the Foresters of Lake Forest College 3-0 on a beautiful afternoon inside Farwell Field. 

The Cardinals took the lead early, scoring in the third minute off the foot of Dane Richardson to put the Cardinals up by one. In the eighth minute, Aidan Westerberg sent a strike past the Foresters goalkeeper to extend the lead to two.

In the second half, the Cardinals were in hopes of finding the back of the net once again. In the 72nd minute, Jack Fairwood sent a strike to the upper left corner where the Foresters goalkeeper Szymon Mocarski made a great save to shut down the Cardinal offense. The Cardinals would find the back of the net off a Richardson free kick that ended up slipping past the Foresters goalkeeper to secure the victory. 

The defense once again showed their dominance only allowing three shots on net the whole game. Sid Marquardt tallied three saves and improved his record to 6-0-0. Marquardt has earned his fourth shutout of the season. 

The Cardinals (6-0-0) are back in action as they take a trip down south to Memphis, Tennessee to take on Rhodes College on Friday at 4:00 pm and Hendrix College on Sunday at 12:00 pm.
