Galesburg, Ill. September 19th, 2021 - On a day where both teams battled the heat, the North Central College women's soccer team comes home with a 1-0 victory behind a stellar performance by the Cardinal defense and a goal by Aly Crum  

The game remained scoreless throughout the first 30 minutes of the game with the Cardinals being able to possess the ball, getting shots on net and passing the ball around the field, working the offense. 

With Crum substituting for the Cardinals in the 25th minute, added a breath of fresh air on the offense with the sun beating down on the field.  Off a corner kick in the 32nd minute of the game, the women's soccer team was able to keep the ball on the offensive side of the field, where Crum was able to find the back of the net. 

The Cardinal defense proved to be too much for Knox College as the Prairie Fire were only able to get off five shots. Mady Schmidt, Ellie Lochbaum, Lauren Fischer, Hanna Dahlk, and Emma Goldman all played an important role in the shutout. 

 The Cardinals 4-3-1 on the season and will host UW-Oshkosh Wednesday night at 7 pm.
