United Soccer Coaches' Region VIII

Naperville, Ill. September 21th, 2021 - The North Central College women's soccer team is ranked fourth in the United Soccer Coaches' Region VIII rankings this week ahead of their non-conference game against UW-Oshkosh, while on the same day Elle Sutter and Jordan Boyd are named Players of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). 

This is the second ranking from the United Soccer Coaches' Poll of the 2021 season. The fourth place ranking is the highest the program has ever received since the inception of the regional rankings. 

Ahead of the Cardinals in the rankings are Calvin College in third, University of Chicago in second, and Washington University rounding off the top. 

Sutter was named Offensive Player of the Week this afternoon in her efforts to help the Cardinals go 2-1-0 on the week. In their game against Alma College, Sutter scored both goals, with one of them being the game winner. 

Also, being named Player of the Week is Jordan Boyd for her defensive efforts. Boyd posted a 2-1-0 record while also recording a shutout verus Knox College on Sunday. Boyd also made 12 saves this past week, which now puts her tied for second in the conference with 35 total.
