Sept. 8, 2021 - The North Central College Men's soccer team extended their winning streak to three games tonight as they took down the Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) Falcons 4-1 inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Just twenty-six seconds into the contest, Aidan Westerberg sent a strike just out of the reach of the Falcons goalkeeper to put the Cardinals on the board early. The Cardinals would strike again in the 28th minute as Zach Lass would put one past the Falcons goalkeeper to extend the lead to 2-0.

In the second half, the Cardinals would strike again as Herman Hesby would finish off a cross from Westerberg to score North Central's third goal. In the 68th minute, the Falcons would strike back as Will King finished off a cross from Angel Uriostegui to cut the lead to two. A handball inside the Falcons box would give the Cardinals an opportunity as Johnny Kraemer converted his second penalty kick of the year to give the Cardinals a 4-1 lead.

The defense led by Sid Marquardt and Kraemer was stellar once again, only allowing four shots to their own seventeen. Marquardt tallied two saves and improved his record to 3-0-0. Mattson Wick of CUW posted seven saves as he falls to 1-2-0 on the year.

North Central will travel to the University of Dubuque on Saturday for another non-conference matchup. The match is set to start at 1:00 pm inside Oyen Field.
