CHICAGO (Jan. 31, 2022) - The North Central College women's track and field team had a trio of new entries to its indoor top-10 lists Saturday in the Aurora Grand Prix, contested Saturday at the Gately Indoor Track & Field Complex.
The Cardinals got double personal-best efforts from sprinter Lindsey Novak, who placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.39 seconds before clocking a time of 26.17 to place third at 200 meters. Novak ranks seventh in North Central history and currently sits 18th-fastest among all NCAA Division III competitors this season while also ranking ninth in the Cardinals' history in the 200. Katie Wagner, meanwhile, placed second in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.55 seconds which ranks ninth-fastest all-time.
North Central took three of the top five spots in the pole vault, as Kathy Myrda cleared 11 feet, 5.75 inches (3.50 meters) to place first and Natalie Johnson and Kiarah Horn finished fourth and fifth, respectively, as each cleared 10'11.75" (3.35m). Alexandra Draves finished second in the 20-pound weight throw with a mark of 51'11.75" (15.83m), as did Anna Cotter in the high jump (4'9.50", 1.46m). Sarah Elischer also cleared 4'9.50" in the high jump, placing fourth, and Stephanie Garcia placed fifth in the 60-meter dash (8.08).
North Central travels to Olivet Nazarene University's Perry Center Saturday to compete in the Walter Cramer Invitational. Competition is set to get under way at 10:30 a.m.
