Dec 6, 2022 -  For the second time in his career, Javen Estrada of the North Central College men's wrestling team has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week after starting the season 9-1. 

Estrada is 4-0 in duals this year and 5-1 in tournaments so far this year. He has pinned four of his opponents, won three matches by decision, one match by major decision, and one match by tech fall. So far this season he has faced 1 ranked opponent during the latest dual against Coe College where he pinned the No. 11 ranked Riley Wright two minutes into the match. 

Estrada, a native of Manhattan, Ill. tied the record for most pins in a season last year with 18 and has a 33-6 career record to this point.

North Central hosts the 58th annual North Central Invitational on Saturday morning inside Res/Rec, starting at 9:00 AM.
