WHEATON, Ill. (Nov. 1, 2022) - The North Central College swimming and diving teams competed in the Beloit Quad and the Wheaton Invitational in their final event of 2022.

The women opened up the Beloit Quad placing fourth in the 200 yard-medley relay as swimmers Abigail Anderson, Abigail Silberman, Scarlett Schuth, and Tori Robinson finished with a time of 2:05.27. Victoria Robinson continued placing fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.32. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Abigail Anderson placed second with a time of 1:19.81. Schuth placed second in the 50 yard butterfly (30.18). 

On the men's side, Ben Laurich placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.76. In the 100-yard butterfly, Gavin Sheehan placed fifth (1:00.49) followed by Laurich in sixth place (1:06.15). Matt Strong finished in sixth place in the 50-yard butterfly (27.83). 

At the Wheaton Invitational, Abigail Anderson finished in 31st place in the 200-yard IM (2:39.18). In the 500-yard freestyle Talyor Lemke placed 27th with a time of 6:13.06. 

For the men, Laurich placed 26th in the 500-yard freestyle (5:57.74). In the 200-yard butterfly Gavin Sheehan finished in 23rd place with a time of 2:36.24. North Central finished 23rd in the 400-yard medley relay (4:34.65).

The Cardinals will open up the new year against the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois, on Jan. 14 at 1 p.m.
