NVA/AVCA Rankings
FrogJump Team of the Week

Feb. 1, 2022 - After a victorious week of competition, the North Central College men's volleyball program has cracked the National Volleyball Association / American Volleyball Coaches Association (NVA/AVCA) Division III National Rankings at No. 15 while Jared Moser and Matt Nealon have been selected to the FrogJump Team of the Week.

The Cardinals rank 15th nationally after a 3-0 win over Concordia-Chicago (CUC) last week followed by a 3-1 win over the previously ranked No. 5 Benedictine who has since dropped out of the Top-15.

North Central is one of two College Conference of Ilinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) schools in this week's rankings with Carthage ranked ninth. The top three teams remain locked with Springfield, Dominican, and Vassar leading the ranks. New York University swapped with Southern Virginia for fourth and fifth, respectively. The remaining programs rounding out the top-15 are Stevens, Wentworth, Rutgers-Newark, Carthage, MIT, Juniata, Nazareth, Marymount, St. John Fisher College, and North Central.

Moser and Nealon were selected as representatives for the FrogJump Team of the Week, a new implementation that works as a weekly honor roll to recognize the top performances at each position from the previous week. Honorees are nominated by their coaching staff or sports information department to be selected by a committee at FrogJump.

Moser's contributions to an undefeated week against CUC and Benedictine earned him a spot on the FrogJump Team as an outside hitter tallying 12 kills and a .474 hitting percentage against CUC with two aces and 10 digs. Moser racked up 15 additional kills against Benedictine, with a .393 hitting percentage. Moser was also selected as this week's CCIW Offensive Player of the Week.

Nealon was selected for the setter position on the FrogJump Team after supplying 36 assists against CUC resulting in the team's .425 hitting percentage. The Benedictine match brought big numbers for Nealon as he put up 41 assists and eight digs against the Eagles, pushing the team's hitting percentage up to .400.

The Cardinals will be up against the No. 2 Dominican University on Wednesday with match time set for 7 p.m. Links to live stats and video can be found on the schedule page of our website.
