Feb. 1, 2021 - North Central College track and field student-athlete
Lindsey Novak, sprinter, has been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Track Student-Athlete of The Week, grabbing her first CCIW award in the 2022 indoor season.
Novak displayed two personal-bests Saturday in the Aurora Grand Prix. Novak placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.39 seconds before clocking a time of 26.17 to place third in the 200-meter dash. Novak ranks seventh in North Central's history and is currently 18th fastest among all NCAA Division III competitors this season. Novak also ranks ninth in the Cardinal's history in the 200-meter.
Novak's first career event was at the Cardinal Opener in 2022. Novak ran in the 200-meter dash posting a time of 26.83 seconds. Novak also ran the 400-meter dash for the first time at the North Central College Snow Day Invitational clocking a time of 59.89 seconds.
The Cardinal's next event will be the Walter Cramer Invitational hosted by Olivet Nazarene University at the Perry Center.
