2021-2022 All-CCIW Women's Basketball Teams
Feb. 22, 2022 - North Central College women's basketball student-athlete
Elle Sutter has established a new benchmark for multi-sport success within the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) after being named to the CCIW's All-Conference First Team on Tuesday.
A starter in 18 of the Cardinals' 25 games this season, Sutter was named one of the CCIW's eight-top performing players after averaging 10.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while leading the team in steals (40) and blocked shots (23). Sutter ranked 15th in the CCIW in scoring, fifth in blocked shots and eighth in rebounding this season.
Sutter also earned First Team All-CCIW honors last fall as a member of the Cardinals' women's soccer team and is the first student-athlete in CCIW history to be a First Team All-Conference selection in both sports in the same academic year.
The CCIW also announced the nine winners of its RESPECT Award for the season. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture. North Central's RESPECT Award honoree is senior forward
IxChel Leeuwenburgh.
The Cardinals (9-16) travel to face Carroll University (18-6) Tuesday for a first-round game in the CCIW Tournament. Tipoff at Van Male Arena is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Click
