CCIW Release
Feb. 7, 2022 - For the second consecutive week, the North Central College men's volleyball program earns College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week accolades as the senior setter,
Matt Nealon, takes this week's defensive award. The CCIW announced this week's selections on Monday.
Nealon has been vital to the team's efforts to overpower two top-five nationally ranked teams with the latest victory being a 3-2 win over the No. 2 Dominican University on Friday.
The setter totaled 42 out of the teams 56 assists in their match against the Stars. Nealon led the team in digs with 13 while also snagging four blocks, a service ace, and two kills. Nealon's efforts helped fuel three teammates to double-digit kills during the Dominican match.
This marks Nealon's third CCIW Player of the Week award in his career, as he earned accolades twice during the 2021 season. Nealon was also chosen for the FrogJump Team of the Week last week alongside teammate, Jared Moser.
The Cardinals have two matches this week as they travel to Milwaukee, Wis. on Wednesday for a match against the Milwaukee School of Engineering before hosting the University of Mount Union on Saturday.
